Curt Hinson, Ph.D., (also known as Doctor Recess) has been teaching for 37 years. He taught at the elementary school level for 16 years and at the college level for over 21 years. He currently works as an educational consultant for PlayFit Education Inc., presenting staff development workshops for school districts, teachers, and students. In addition, he teaches in the on-line graduate program at Canisius College in Buffalo, NY.  Curt holds a PhD in Kinesiology from Temple University; a Master's of Education degree from Widener University; and a BS degree in Health & PE from West Virginia Wesleyan College.

About Us

PlayFit Education Inc. specializes in fitness, health, physical education and playground programs for schools, camps and corporate events. We offer staff-training workshops, student assemblies, and corporate wellness programs that focus on play, fitness and social-emotional health.  In addition we provide curriculum resources to help schools teach children how to live active, healthy lives. Our focus is on using developmentally appropriate games and activities that promote the learning and improvement of: social/emotional skills; cognitive skills; motor development; and fitness.  Our corporate division offers fun and engaging corporate events to help make any business occassion more productive and enjoyable.
