Games for the Whole Child
by Brian Barrett, Ph.D.
This workshop focuses on promoting lifetime physical activity by meeting the social, emotional, cognitive and physical needs of children. Each developmental area is simultaneously addressed in each activity presented, allowing for participants to learn how to teach the whole child. Centered on the belief that traditional calisthenics and jogging laps have failed to motivate previous generations to remain physically active, the whole-child philosophy focuses on creating lifetime movers through meeting all of their needs. Come ready to play and experience exercise through the eyes of the child.
