On-Site Workshops
General Information
The Trouble-free Playground workshop is available for on-site training at your school. It can be done in a half-day format (3 hours) or a full-day format (5 hours). This workshop is best suited for an entire school staff (administrators; classroom teachers; specialists; and support staff). Any number of people may attend, so you're welcome to invite neighboring schools and have them share the expenses with you. A gymnasium or large multi-purpose room is needed for the workshop. Chairs for the participants should be placed at one end, with the opposite end left open for demonstration purposes. An overhead projector with a screen is also needed.
This is a "hands-on" workshop! Games and activities are demonstrated and attendees are welcome to participate (at their own discretion) and interact during part of the workshop (nothing strenuous, however!). Participants should dress in comfortable clothes and shoes. No one is ever required or forced to actively participate. Active participation is strictly voluntary.
Although the topic of this workshop is the "playground," the material covered has implications for all aspects of the school environment. This is not your average in-service workshop that teachers usually dread sitting through. This workshop is interactive, informative, and FUN! It will not only change your playground, it will change your school.
